The role of bees to our food supply

Thank you to the wonderful group of landscape architects who listened to me talk at the Food in the Landscape workshop at Waverton Coal Loader today. The topic for me: ‘The role of bees to our food supply’.To do your bit, please don’t spray pesticides, it just isn’t worth the damage it does – especially Neonicotinoids. Chemicals under the class Neonicotinoid:
Acetamiprid
Clothianidin
Dinotefuran
Imidacloprid
Nitenpyram
Thiocloprid
Thiamethoxam.
The European Union and the USA have banned the use of these chemicals, however they are available on hardware shelves in Australia – so ‘beeware’

confidor = imidacloprid = colony collapse disorder - 4
