Award of Excellence for Research and Communication in Landscape Architecture

The award is for the publication: Soils for Landscape Development: Selection, Specification and Validation, by Simon Leake and Elke Haege, published by CSIRO Publishing, 2014.

The citation:

“By integrating objective guidelines for assessing, specifying and constructing soil root volumes for trees with soil specification the landscape architect adds significantly to the knowledge of a major pillar of the profession of landscape architecture…..

“the contribution…extends the application of theory into practice and raises the awareness of the value of landscape architecture and design”.
